My secondary progressive MS has cause cognitive memory issues. By having a
Sony CLI� PEG-UX40 PDA, I would be answer silly question like what is your phone number without pulling out 10 piece of paper from my wallet to find my phone number. This would also help not double book appointments. Keep a curtain update list of medicine and doctors numbers. Just to list, record message to myself to review later. Program my pill taking time. Most important it will become my brain, my right hand?

With the feature on here I should never get lost again, nor will I looking the scrap man? The lesson you are taught about having MS is to learn to reduce stress, this would help me do just that.

A Sewing Machine...

You never know how important it is to feel like you have a purpose or reason to be in this world until you can no longer do the things you use to do before a major life illness comes and takes it from you.

However I refuse to give in to it. So after lots of searching I believe I have once again found something I can do to help bring my standard of living up while helping those that are disabled find some dignity. Out of my own need to hide leg bags and many other items I have design items to help those in a wheel care feel a little more dignity when they go out in public.

I looked all the things I can do and found that I can still sew, it takes me longer, but I can still do it? YEA!!!! I found that my old machine will cost me about 75 to 100 to have tuned up and cleaned. Which I can no longer due, so I would have to take it in? However, I found that I can go to Wal-Mart and get a nice machine for about 65.00 plus tax, with a year warranty on it. Plus I also found they have the type of scissors that I would need to cut the fabric, ones that keep the hands from having to work so hard.

My wish would be for a Wal-Mart card to get the sew machine and scissors. (more)

Fishing Tackle

I use to fish when I was younger. As adult I never had the time and then when MS hit and put me in a wheel chair I never thought I would not be able to go fishing due to the high cost of the license or the lack of wheel chair access to place to fish.

I was granted a disabled fishing license this year and have found that there is a place with a board walk that I can get to and fish. All I had managed to keep in my last few years of moving from place to place was my pole.

I need to get a tackle box and some fishing tackle. It will feel so go to just get out of the house and for just awhile not have to think about having MS to just do something normal.

My wish is that everyone would give an hour a week to a neighbor that can not take care of their own yard to due a disability or illness or old age. Pull a few weeds, mow the lawn, and pick up the trash around the yard of fence.

Plant a few flower to brighten their day. Fix a broken gate; mend a hold in the fence.

Take sometime to think how you would feel if you could no longer take care of your yard.

Everyone at sometime in their lives need some help from a friend...

Every once in a while you just need to get away, to forgot about your illness. I would like to spend one day and one night on a lake just fishing and not deal with doctors and treatments.

I would need to talk my caregivers with me so that is why the amount is so high. They have a motor home which would cut down on the cost of things. This money would go for the camp site and to pay for the gas.

It would be so nice to just get away. (more)

Money to do my yard

I am in a wheelchair, and I am not able to get out and mow my lawn, which is very big. If I had a riding mower I could do it. However I do not, but there are a couple of young boys in the neighhood that are trying to raise money for some camp. Since my yard is so big they will do it for $25.00. I figure that I can get by with doing it once doing it 2 times a month this would talk me part way through the summer and then I would have a chance to save some money for the rest of the year.

Kids with ill parents get time to be a kid?

That they have time to play, a time to just be kids with out feeling bad for having fun..

Sometime even though we do not mean to let it happens we tend put to much on the shoulder of our young kids?. A lot of the time when they do have fun they come back feeling bad cause they had a good time..

Money to my Yard (second time around)

This is the second time around for this wish, it has moved from needing it done to, HAVE TO GET IT DONE.
The grass is knee high now, my concern is this, landlord going to send someone to do it and it will be tacked on to my rent an amount ranging from 50.00 to 100.00 a month. This amount I can not afford at all. I also live right next to the park and the city will be handing out tickets to those whose yard are not kept up.

That Depression never takes another life?

In my life time I have had to say good bye to 3 people that took their life, the depression was too much for them to handle. My life mission is to never hear about another person that took their life, due to feeling alone. My wish is that NO one ever feels alone again no matter what time it is.

UP IN MORNING OFF TO SCHOOL

I had been going to school when my MS hit me. It caused me to drop out. I was very close to having my second degree this time as a Social worker. I figured that I would not be able to ever go back to school because of my MS was affecting my mind and my thinking.

Through help of my counselor and my OT person I have learned that I can still learn not as fast and I will have to work harder to learn what would have come so easy in the past but I can still do it.

I have applied to the local 2 year college on Saturday I received my award letter to start attending this summer. I was told that in the summer time they do not give out the rest of the money that is left after paying the tuition until the third week of class, that I would have to come up with the money for the book myself.

In the past this would not have been an issue, I could have caught up on things when I got my books however I now need all the time I can get and can not afford to be behind. I am asking for enough money to get the two books I will need right off the bat, the other books I can await on because they are only one two classes and do not start until the 4 week.

Cure for MS

Every night I pray for a cure, I pray for my life back. As with many other people with MS I have been asked what is it like to have MS. It was not until recently I have I been able to explain it to people.

I was sent a story and I will add the link to the story at the end of this wish. As it is too long to post here but I urge you to go and read it, this story can be used for almost any major illness and might help you have a better understanding of a love one that is sick.

For me MS has taken so very much from me. My ability to walk, and even talk, I have vision issues that come and go. I lost the control of my bladder as well. I wear braces on both my legs, day (I have day and night brace for my legs) and hand brace at night for my hands. As of today I now have to sleep with O2 as it has affected my ability to breath at night.

I am not telling you this to have you feel sorry for me, my reason is so that you might have an understanding of what it is like for someone that has MS. That everything we do take and robs us of our energy. That most pain meds do not work to help the pain. That we can look find one day and the next not be able to walk. I am telling you this so that maybe you will have a little more patients when you see someone in a wheel chair or a walker or using a cane. Not look at someone that how speech is slurred as being drunk.

Pity is not something any of those I know with MS want, what we want is a cure and our life?s back.
