A Honeymoon For Our First Anniversary
My husband and I will have been married for 1 year on June 22. We were shortchanged out of our "honeymoon" on our wedding night, and have never had a honeymoon. Let me explain: we booked a room in a small city outside of ours for 4 days, Friday through Monday, and after our reception, we checked in at the motel. We weren't in the room for 10 minutes before we realized that it was filthy! And, to top it all off, the bed was even broken! We went to the front desk to ask the guy if we could have a different room, and he refused! He even had the audacity to tell us that he wouldn't charge us for the bed! Why should we be charged? It was broken when we got there! I mean, my husband sat the telephone book on the bed, and the headboard crashed to the floor! It was obvious, after looking at the headboard, that it was pulled off of the wall, and someone just sat it on the nail to make it look like it was okay. After pointing out that minor detail, the guy called the police and had us escorted off of the property! And, we never even got a refund. So, we returned home sleepy, sad, mad, angry, and flat broke! We put the last bit of change we had into that motel room so we could say that we had a honeymoon, and the greedy people who ran the motel took all of that away from us. So, my wish is to have a nice, romantic getaway with my husband for the weekend. I don't really want to go anywhere, just to a nice hotel, and perhaps have a room with a hot tub?!
