High in the mountains of Thailand is a Buddhist Monestry with over 300 children who have either been orphaned or abandoned, run by one Buddhist monk, he has no donations from any government or organization, these kids are struggling to survive.

2 years ago Jemma came to visit these kids and it changed her life forever, she set out to find a way to help these kids
Jemma spoke with the monk and compiled a top ten important item list:
Food, clean water, medical equipment and beds, also machines to teach them a trade so that when they left the orphanage at 18 they would have a skill to take with them and ensure their future.

Jemma has dedicated her life to getting them these items- By helping them help themselves.
Jemma finds creative and fun ways to help get these items- she gets the children to draw art and sells it online, she also sells and exhibits paintings drawn by elephants and has published a book, all of Jemmas work is towards these children. 100% of profits from all these areas go directly to them.
Jemma now needs help to document and promote this cause to others

Filming a documentary and showcasing this art, will show the world what the amazing spirit of someone can achieve, and how we should all fight a little harder to find ways to stop poverty amongst these amazing people.

This could well be the answer to pro-actively fighting poverty, by empowering the kids to draw pictures, and gain confidence and pride as these pictures are sold and the money helps not only them but future generations.

The true story of one amazing girls determination and commitment to improving the lifes of others.

To teach art classes to the homeless, I have various volenteer artists who will teach them how to draw and then to get them to draw a picture representing their life and how they see it.
I have so far gained the support of 4 local artists who would like to help with their project, one is a desert storm veterinarian and one of whom used to be homeless in Santa Monica himself 11 years ago.

They will provide a life synopsis, why they are homeless, where they are from, what there dreams and hopes are, what they want to be.
This will compliment their pictures, and I will sell them on my website with the funds going directly towards the an education system for them (see below)

Any money raised from these artworks will go towards the education centre.

LONG TERM GOAL:
Education classes for the homeless
Objective: Through education and free classes I will teach the homeless people of Santa Monica, a mixture of the below classes and classes of their choice.
The idea is to empower them and to give then inspiration, motivation and the basic skills necessary towards getting off the streets and back to work.

? Basic English
? Dealing with people
? Dealing with conflict
? Money Management
? Motivation and Inspiration
? How to be and keep being motivated
? Time Management
? CV writing
? Customer service

I would create workbooks where each participant would enroll and get a workbook, they would then take each class, getting a stamp in their books for the classes that they attend, once they have completed all the classes they will get a certificate.

The certificate will show that they have been learning the foundation skills and help towards getting them a new job, we will the coach them into getting a job with the skills they have identified and also recommend them to companies that we will make contacts with and we will monitior their performance for the first month (This first month will be a probationary period- with on job training provided and a support network) if they are successful they will get a fulltime job in the end
