Okay, so I'm not a gargoyle or hideous or anything, but you'll almost never see a photo of me really smiling, and I do my best to avoid being photographed in profile. I need braces, and have needed them since I was a teenager, but the money has never been there. My teeth are a mess. My eye teeth (fangs) protrude from my jaw above the rest of my teeth and cut the inside of my upper lip daily. My lower jaw pushes forward, making me look rather like a pitbull, only not as cute. Braces would improve my appearance and my outlook on life, while simultaneously removing my need for a bite plane (which I also can't afford) and reducing the TMJ that makes my face ache all the time. Getting the braces I need would also cut down on the damage done to my teeth because of their improper alignment.
I'm not sure I could get away with wishing for a handsome orthodontic surgeon who would do the work just out of the kindness of his heart, so instead I'll wish for the funds to get the facial repairs I need. As a bonus, my jaw will likely need to be wired for a while which will help with the weight I am trying to lose...
Help me get my wish and not only will you be making me comfortable and happy and improving my ability to smile, but you'll keep my teeth from scaring small children for years to come! (more)

a replacement of a CD that was stolen from me.

The naughty thing would be to download the CD from the internet and not bother purchasing a new copy, but I want to buy it. That's why I'm looking at this as a nice wish.
The CD in question was sent to me as a promotional treat as a result of calling a radio interview show and getting on air to talk to my musical hero, Billy Idol, who was promoting his then latest release, Cyberpunk. It was back in the 90's and I still have the "Chrome Dome" Skechers steel-toe sneakers that were the other part of the swag.
In 2000 my apartment was broken into and my large CD collection was stolen, including several limited edition CDs, collectors items and a few indie releases that I will likely never be able to get copies of again. I know I can get a copy of Cyberpunk, still in the original wrappings; I just can't get it locally. That means I need a bit of extra moolah to buy it online -- if I could find a place that does Interac online, since I do not have and do not want to get a credit card. Of course, the dream conclusion to this wish would be to have Billy read this and send me an autographed copy with a personalised note, but I'll settle for getting my hands on the CD again.
I also wish for the person who stole my CDs to suddenly suffer rapid and complete (though temporary) hearing loss, and not be able to hear their favourite music for a while, a week maybe, just enough to convince them it -might- be permanent. It's only fair, after all.

A safe end to the war.

This wish isn't about winning, or money. It's about hoping everyone who reads this will take a few seconds and sincerely focus on wishing the war would end in the safest way for everyone concerned, as soon as possible.
I have the utmost respect for the troops on both sides who have given their lives for their beliefs, but it's my belief that the war is unjust and unnecessary, and should be ended as swiftly as can be arranged. I wish we humans, since we think we are so advanced and intelligent, would find a way to solve our problems without resorting to violence on any scale.

Decent healthcare for everyone

I wish the governments of the world would take a hint from Canada and other countries that have subsidised health care. Perhaps the US could get out of the war in Iraq and use the money they would save on getting their citizens some health care so people wouldn't be on here needing money for surgeries and medications required to survive. Everyone should have access to necessary medical care, regardless of age or income. It breaks my heart to see so many people in need when the problems could be solved so easily. Universal health care and medical coverage ought to be a basic human right globally.

Enough money to get my youngest kitten spayed

This January I was sitting in my living room when I heard a kitten screaming outside. The sound was one of pure fear. I went outside and found a tiny tabby kitten, perhaps a month old if that. She was already starting to freeze to the ground as it was -18 degrees out not including wind chill. I took her in, introduced her to my herd, and have cared for her since. She is named Valentine since she has a cross of stripes on her back with a heart-shaped spot in the centre of the cross. She's now reached the age where she needs her "big girl" surgery, and my budget is stretched to the limit. I would love to be able to pay for her little snip and still have enough money for food for her and my other kitties as well as myself.
