Dotty's Freedom To Roam

Dotty's Freedom To Roam

Meet Dot. She is a 3 year old Chihuahua/ Toy Rat Terrier mix who we rescued from a friend's sister who couldn't keep her about 6 months ago. She was an outdoor/indoor doggy with her first family, but because of the cold weather and the fact that our home is on a stretch of road notorious for claiming animals' lives, she has been an indoor girl since she came to her forever family (us!). Now it is getting warm out and the time is ideal for us to build her a comfortable doghouse in our yard. We would also like to be able to afford to build her a cable run which would safely run the length of our property, so that she can be out and about more often without the fear of her getting away and falling victim to the road's dangers. She is a feisty little gal who can easily yank the leash away from whomever is walking her when she sees something she wants to check out! This is a naughty wish, because I think it would make me just as happy as it would make her.

Freedom From Fear For Everyone, Even If For Just One Day...

Freedom From Fear For Everyone, Even If For Just One Day...

I wish with all my heart that everyone on the planet, all living species, could just have one day in which we all had complete freedom from fear. Of course, to achieve this goal all of our most basic needs would have to be met for a 24 hr. period. Not realistic, you say? Well, you're probably right, but if I can't make it so, at least I can wish it!

Everyone To Be Nature's Janitor

Everyone To Be Nature's Janitor

My wish is that everyone (who is physically able to) would spend at least one day per month picking up trash in an area local to them. This is something that is easy to do, and would greatly impact our environment if everyone did it. I do this once per month in our neighborhood and I am consistently amazed at the amount of junk and recyclables I can accumulate in just a couple of hours!

Be nature's steward, not her downfall...

No More Stray Shopping Carts, Please!

No More Stray Shopping Carts, Please!

I would love it if people could just put their shopping carts back in the cart corrals in the parking lots of stores after they are done using them. Even I understand that there are situations where this may not be possible, but in the vast majority of cases it is doable!

I would like to not have to worry about my car being dinged, or carts taking up prime parking spots that someone with disabilities could be using.

It's just common courtesy, isn't it?

This is definitely a naughty wish, and in the vast scheme of things not very important in comparison to others...mainly it is just a huge pet peeve of mine.

Thanks for reading, though!

Everyone can use more friends, especially me!

I just deleted a bunch of people off of my friend list who were voting 1's on everybody, and you can count on the fact that I will not do that to you. If I don't agree with or can't support a wish, I just pass it by.

I don't want the dollar I had to enter, just more friends here...

Thanks for reading, and may your wishes come true!

To Get This Old Mustang Ad's Song Out Of My Head

I am one of those odd folks who enjoys perusing old ads on YouTube. My current fave is this Mustang '68 ad, but this poses a problem for me...

I simply cannot get the damned song out of my head!

I find myself absently humming it while I work, while I homeschool, in the shower, and while I drive. I thought that watching it 5 times in a row would make me so sick of it that I would no longer have this issue, but to my utter dismay it seemed to have the opposite effect!

Seems to me that the older ads have the catchiest jingles of all...I triple dog dare you to watch it several times in a row and not have the same problem I do.

Thanks for reading, and may all your wishes come true!

Pull Over First, Please!

Pull Over First, Please!

I want to bring an end to cell phone use while driving without a hands-free device/ headset!

I have personally been witness to, and a near victim of the inattentive drivers who have their minds and hands on their conversations rather than driving. Just the other day, I saw a young man come very close to clipping a pedestrian in a crosswalk, all the while obliviously yakking away on his phone...

If you don't have a hands-free device, just pull over to answer it- lives do depend on it!

It saddens me to no end that the majority of posts lately in the forums include negative and nasty diatribe. It has become a place that is largely no longer fun for me to post. I have stayed out of the negative threads and posted as positively as possible, the only exception to this being asking people to take it private or let the negative threads just die off into archival doom...

As long as this continues to be the majority, it will remain a source of sadness for me.

I wish everyone the best, and will hold out hope that people will behave in the manner which they wish to be treated...

My Dog To Quit Watching Us While we Eat!

I just want my dog Dot to quit watching us with those pathetic, Puss-n-Boots eyes while we eat! We have tried putting her in the bathroom or a bedroom during dinner, but that just seems cruel. We have also tried providing her with a good meal of her own to distract her, but I'm afraid she finds people food to be much more saliva-worthy!
