New clothes for my daughter.
My 7 year old daughter tried to smuggle a pixel chic into her school bag that my mother had picked up for her as a treat when she spent the night. When I caught her and asked her why she was smuggling toys to school she casually replied "I can play it at recess because I don't have any friends." We aren't a rich family and struggle to get by in a well to do neighborhood. My kids are often picked on because of the hand me downs and thrift store clothes. Very rarely can I afford new stuff. While fancy clothes isn't the solution to being picked on at school, I feel it would make my daughter feel better about herself and maybe give her a little more self confidence. I can't afford new clothes for her anytime soon and have no idea what she will be wearing once summer comes! I just want my daughter to feel beautiful! |
Gas Money for Union Apprenticeship
My fiance (and father of my 7 and 4 year old little girls) was just accepted into the Union Operators Apprenticeship here in Wisconsin. He now goes on the list for work (which can be a lengthy wait for the new guys), but also has a contractors list of all the contractors that employ his union. In order to get a job faster, he needs to travel around (about a 50 mile radius from our home) to these contractors to fill out their applications and leave his resume with his eligibility letter. Gas prices being as they are, the financial situation for this aspect has become a problem. There are about 30 different contractors he needs to get in touch with. The ones close to the home we've already taken care of, but in order to up his chances of finding a contractor more quickly, we've broadened his range of potential employers. He has a strong farm background in operating equipment and this is such a wonderful opportunity for our family since Union jobs are among the most high paying of the trade. We know eventually his name will come up on the list for steady employment, but until then its the same old $8 an hour jobs. Any help would be awesome, thanks! |
Care Packages for my brother in Afghanistan
My baby brother turns 20 on May 29th and he is spending it in Afghanistan. His last birthday was spent in BCT (Basic Combat Trainig). My birthday is today (May 26) and all day I kept feeling guilty thinking about how he was going to spend his birthday. I can't afford to send him care packages while he's over there and there are SO many things they need. Besides the things he needs I'd like to be able to send him things he'd want, such as scrapbooks of him and his daughter, batteries for his walkman, stuff like that. If I should win this wish all of the money would go towards items for his care packages from me, my sisters, and my mom, and shipping charges and this money could send him packages for up to a year! His deployment is 15 months long. He is currently in the 173rd airborne and he is my hero. If you want to know more about him you can also visit our yahoo group: [ link ] He has registered on anysoldier.com, but like I said, I'd like to be able to send him personal things from home. Please help me support our soldier! Thanks ya'll in advance for any help. |
Hip Happening Cool New Summer Sandals for my Hot Tootsies.
My wonderful kids go through roughly 2 (sometimes 3!) pairs of sandals each summer. I have four kids. That's eight pairs of sandals. My feet, on the other hand, seem to be the ones always going without a good pair of sandals for the summer. For example, the last pair of sandals that I bought was in 2001. Yeppers. I'm still truckin' em, too. But my feet are screaming its time for a new pair. So, my wish is for a new pair of sandals. My piggies will be SO happy if I get 'em. (And I mean my toes, not my kids....lol) Thanks! (Yes, this is a picture of my current sandals..eww, huh?) |
2nd Try, Care Packages for my baby brother in Afghanistan
I'm really not trying to be annoying, but this wish means so much to me and my family. So, my little brother is currently serving our country in Afghanistan. I can't afford to send him care packages while he's over there and there are SO many things they need. Besides the things he needs I'd like to be able to send him things he'd want, such as scrapbooks of him and his daughter, batteries for his walkman, stuff like that. If I should win this wish all of the money would go towards items for his care packages from me, my sisters, and my mom, and shipping charges. Not to mention that this money could send him packages for up to a year! His deployment is 15 months long. I would like to add that donations are more than welcome and whoever donates we'd like to add your name to his package. We are setting up a fund through my payapl for his care packages. He is currently in the 173rd airborne and he is my hero. If you want to know more about him you can also visit our yahoo group: [ link ] |
