Headstones for my brothers boys...Please help

I went to MD over the weeknd and found out just how bad off my brother Mike is. I honestly don't think he'll be here much longer. I'm very worried and scared for him.

His second son died of SIDS at just 5 weeks of age. Then in August his 5th son was killed in a 4-wheeler accident. Neither of them have headstones. All Mike asks for now is headstones for his boys, before he dies.

Writing this is just breaking my heart and I"m in tears. Theres no way my husband and I can do this on our own. We're asking for votes, that's all.

I can get both headstones for just under $700. I know I can get that much from here, so I"m just asking for the $100. That will be enough to pay the down payment and get them ordered. I want Mike to know for sure that his boys will have headstones, and I want him to help in picking them out.

He honestly doesn't have much time left. So I"m asking for help in the way of votes. Please help me do this for him.

I've been searching online and found a better price. I can get them for $235 each. That means I only have to come up with $470 instead of $700! This is much more do-able now. ;-) (more)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

My husband has been out of work for 3 weeks now. Our insurance payment is due on our van on December 15th, of $102. We have no money to pay this, but need our van for him to get to work. We also need a way to the grocery store, drs appts, and our sons therapy appts. Our youngest son is autistic and will be starting speech, occupational, and physical therapy in a few weeks.

clothes and work boots for my husband

My husband Joe has worked hard over the years to support his family. When we got married we agreed that I'd stay home and take care of the kids and hed work to take care of us. He has done a wonderful job.

We've always made sure the kids had good clothes and shoes for school. Then I made sure he had decent work clothes and safe boots for work. Right now he's needing pants, t-shirts, and new work boots.

He's a big guy, so his clothes are a bit more expensive than an average size mans are. His boots we get from Wal~Mart because he can get them wide without paying an arm and a leg for them.

He was out of work for 3 weeks and just left home to start a new job. I'd love to surprise him with some new clothes and boots.

We've checked in thrift stores and good wills, but they never have anything big enough to fit him, and the work boots are already worn as bad as the ones hes wearing now.

He is a truck driver and only gets home for a day or two every 2 or 3 weeks. I'm hoping he wont be out any longer than that with this new job. We sure could use the money, but the kids miss him.

a mother daughter day out

I put this as a need because to my daughter, its a true need. My only girl turned 12 in September. We don't have much of a chance to spend any quality time together any more. My youngest son was recently diagnosed with autism and he takes up allot of my time. When we go out somewhere, I have to keep a close eye on him to make sure he doenst dart away from me or get into something he shouldnt be.

I'd like to be able to find a sitter for him for a couple hours so I can take my daughter out, just the two of us.

I'd take her to get her hair cut and buy her some girlie things. Weather it be 'starter' make up, hair things, nail polish, or some kind of craft things. We all enjoy shopping at the dollar stores, so I couple probably get her all kinds of things from there.

I'd also have to get my lil man something small so he wouldn't be too too upset over leaving him with someone else.

This is going to be a challange, but it's something my daughter really needs. She's growing up and needs some time with mom to talk about 'stuff'. (If you have kids, I'm sure you know what I mean here)

Help me make this happen for her. She's been such a great help to me with her little brother. We could both use a break and this would be ideal!

Mother daughter day out

I'd like to take my only daughter for a day out. We'd get our hair cut, maybe get her nails polished, have lunch or dinner, and go shopping and a $1 store. My whole family loves shopping in those stores.

My youngest son is autistic. Most of the time when we go out as a family we're all concentrating on him to make sure he's safe and not getting into something he shouldn't be. I have no time to do 'girly' things with my daughter.
She has been an awesome help to me especially in the last 6 months. The move from one state to another, a new school that didn't follow his IEP, new surroundings, then daddy getting a new job, has been too much for him to cope with. There are times that we have to hold him back from the door so he wont run out and try to go get his daddy. It breaks my heart. He'll be starting therapies after the new year to help him learn to cope with every day life. That will make things easier on all of us.

But right now, my daughter deserves a day out for all she's been helping me with. She's just 12 but you'd never know to see her or be around her. She is so very mature in just about every way imaginable. I don't know what I'd do without her.

I want to show her how much I appreciate her help and give her a day out.

Oh, I'd have to pay a babysitter to stay with my son while we go out. That's why this wish is for $100. I can't leave my lil man with just anyone. They HAVE to know about autism.

'Stuff' for me while hubby is on the road

My husband just took another job as an over the road truck driver. He can be gone anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks at a time. Even though we aren't spring chickens any more, we still enjoy a little fun every once in a while. There are often times while he's gone and that 'urge' hits me.

I'd like to get a few things to help me with that 'urge' while hes gone. No, I don't mean another man silly....LOL Just a couple toys and some oils or a tube of ky jelly.

We all have our needs and I can't just make it wait till he gets home. It's hard to just plan when one might have the opportunity AND want it at the same time. And that's too much like making an appointment with your husband.

I'd like to be able to put the kids in the bed and 'enjoy' some alone time. Just me and ahem, my little friend. I'd have to make sure it didn't make much noice because the kids would hear and come busting in. Now how would I explain that? ;-)

Money to 'autism proof' my house, and a medic alert bracelet

There are several of us that have autistic kids. If you've been around for an amount of time, I'm sure you've seen several wishes related to autism and our kids.

I've been learning allot from other parents on here and have figured out that I need to 'autism proof' my house, and get my son a medical alert bracelet. I found a nice one with a one years on-line medical registry for $29 plus $6 shipping to have it in 4-7 business days. I can get that here....[ link ]

I really never thought much about things my son does until we started discussing things a couple weeks ago. I then realized that he's a 'runner'. This means when he's having a meltdown, he tries to get out the door and run. To where, I have no idea. But this really worries me. The front of our house is just about 40 ft from the road (Yikes!)

I also need to get all kinds of locks and devices to make sure he's safe. This will include dead bolts with key locks on both inside and out, window locks/alarms, locks for the washer/dryer, medicine cabinet in the bathroom....oh the list goes on and on.

I also need to print up some papers for my neighbors with my sons picture and a little info about him and ways to contact me. Just in case he does get out and tries to wander. Oh, it's also been suggested I give these papers to the fire and police dept and anyone else that might be called in an emergency involving children.

I can get all this done in a couple days, if I had the money.

So, this is my wish. Money for a medical alert bracelet, and other items to help keep my lil man safe.

Help in moving...eviction because of sale of house

After living here for just about 6 month, the owner has decided to sell the house. She gave us 2 weeks to be out or she's going to file a court summons.

I know $100 wont pay for the move, but it sure would help us a great deal. I've found a mobile home to rent already. We just need the funds to go.

It's about an hour away from where we live now, so a moving truck would be cheaper than making several trips in someones pick up.

We'll need a deposit, first months rent, plus utility deposits, and a moving truck. I don't know how much for sure all this will cost, but I know it's more than what we have right now.

My husband was out of work for about a month. He went back to work at a new job at the beginning of December but it's taking a while to get things caught up.

The wonderful members here have helped us and have donated just over $90 so far. I am so greatful for the friends I have here. There are some awesome people here, thats for sure!

If we don't come up with enough to move, we'll have to put everything in storage and stay in my husbands big truck for a while. We could do that, but it wouldn't be the best thing for our youngest son. He's autistic and needs a routine every day. Living on the road is no where near a routine. You never know when you'll be on the road, parked at a truck stop, or even when you'll sleep. He needs a home more than anything.

phone cards for my husband

My husband, gopherjlc, is an over the road truck driver. He's gone for about 2-3 weeks at a time, then home for 2-3 days, then gone again. This means lots of phone calls home to check on me and the kids. We are going broke buying phone cards for him.

I'd like to be able to get one big phone card because the higher the amount of the card, the less the calls cost in the end. This would help us a great deal with finances at home too. Because then he wouldn't be spending money on phone cards..LOL

Help us out here with this so he can talk to our kids at night and be able to tell them good night and he loves them before bed. This makes us all feel better about him being gone so much.
