Dear Santa,
Thank you for the body wash last year, I really enjoyed it, and have used it ever since. Did you get the cookies I left out for you? How are Mrs. Claus, and the elves?
I must admit, I am not only writing to too how things are going. I have a few special requests to make. Money is a little tight on my end this time of year, so I was hoping you could help me give some friends some presents. You know me, and my Star Trek stuff, well, a lot of my friends are fans too, and I'd like to add to their collections. A couple in particular get very Grinch-like around Christmas time, because they can't get past the idea that Christmas isn't only for Christians anymore. So I thought a nice way to involve them would be to buy them an ornament, to put on the tree.
For my new Captain, who is really spear heading change in the cadet corps, and reviving the strength that it once had, I'd appreciate it if you would drop off this Prometheus ornament, by Futura [ link ]

For my assistant in the Supply section, who has been a real life saver, considering my lack of organization,(even though she is a bit of a capitalist) please send a Ferengi Marauder ornament [ link ]

For my old friend, NES, who I don't get to see very much since he moved, an Enterprise-B ornament (he always plays with the refitted Excelsior Class ship on Legacy) [ link ]

For my dearest Ellen, with whom I am building my entire future, please leave the Future Enterprise ornament. [ link ]
And if you wouldn't mind, I'd love to have a couple more for my own tree, which is still fairly Spartan.

Your friend,
Peter

My significant other and I are both full time students at Nipissing University, and much of what little free time we have is devoted to working with a local youth group. What's more is that at the end of May, she will be leaving town to work in Penticton, BC, 3880 km away, and won't be back for 3 months. What I'd like to do is take her out for a sunset dinner cruise aboard the Chief Commanda II for her birthday. As students, money is always tight, but I would really like to treat the love of my life to the fair well she deserves.

This past year, I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, which is an autistic spectrum disorder, as well as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Attentive Type. Some years ago I was also diagnosed with Discalcula, which is a learning disability related to mathematics, as well as disgraphia, which has to do with writing things down. The only way I can become eligable for the government grant my disabilities are supposed to entitle me to, is to take out an OSAP loan, pushing me into debt. The psychologists who have worked with me recommended that I be provided with a laptop for notetaking in class, because I can't keep pace with how fast people speak. As a student of Political Science at Nipissing University, I have 15 hours per week of note to copy down, which I've had to reduce, drawing out my 3 year degree over 4 years in order to keep up with the material.
I just want to get through school like everyone else.

I like sushi!
A few years ago I was lucky enough to go to to Japan, where I first tried sushi, and it was wonderful! Living in a small town in Northern Ontario, there aren't exactly a large number of places in town where I can find good sushi. Our one quality place, the Kabuki House is pretty expensive, and well, I can't abide cheap sushi, its just not the same!
I have a sushi recipe book, and some Japanese chop sticks that I picked up in Japan, so what I'd like to do is try my hand at making sushi. What I need is some nori (seaweed), sushi rice and sushi vinegar, a rolling mat, and various stuffings(veggies, crab, maybe a mango).

Now, please enjoy this Yam Roll video, my sister Audrey was on the animation team which made this show.

My significant other is a 20 year old Northern Ontarian amateur artist, and though my opinion may be rather biased, she is extraordinarily talented!
Ellen entered into a couple of art courses during her second year of university (did I mention her major is Mathematics?), and her talent has absolutely flourished! I took art all through high school, and was always at or near the top of my class, but I can't hold a candle to her work!
As you may recall, my sister Audrey is holding an art show in July [ link ] Although there is no date set as of yet, Audrey and Ellen have discussed holding a joint show here in North Bay some time in the near future.
The money I am asking for would go towards buying art supplies for Ellen's part in the exhibit, such as paint, canvases, illustration board, and other items she may desire. To be honest, I do not have an exact list of her needs at the moment, so I am not sure what she would purchase.
I seem to be rambling, so I'll stop now.
Oh, one more thing. That fish was done at 7:00 AM, following an all nighter, and she still had time to have a shower and catch the 8 AM bus!

Check out her new site to view some of her work! [ link ]

Star Trek: The Next Generation DVD Box Set

  • Wish Points: 258.06

I've been slowly building myself a collection of movies, and TV episodes for the future entertainment of myself, and those around me. I grew up with Star Trek, and my favourite was always the Next Generation. I remember the best fun was had when the whole family would gather 'round the TV, we'd put down blankets, and pop some popcorn, and have fun foods (hogies are wonderful things), and just watch Star Trek for the evening. Yes, I realise that we are a bunch of nerds. When I have my own family (don't worry mom, I don't have any surprises for you), I'd like to be able to have that as well. Besides, how can you say no to Captain Jean Luc Picard? He IS Robin Hood!
Some might say that I could simply download it if I don't have the money. To that I say this is Star Trek! There are some things that you just don't download, and this is one of them!

I found this place online that sells foreign manufactured DVD's for a fraction of the price. Check the link below!

I wish that all of these pathetic trolls would grow a pair, and stop using bloody pseudonyms, and multiple accounts, or mass downpropping. It's pathetic!
The guise of anomynity makes them feel invincible, so they think they can do whatever they want, and speak as nastily as they like. Humans are vile, vile creatures!
The funny part in all this is that with all these trolls making attacks on wishes, those wishes get more attention, and people give their support! Think before you do something. If you come off as pointlessly aggressive, opeople will give their votes to the wish just to prove you wrong!

Grow some balls! Or better yet, just grow up, and get some counselling!

I think I'll give this one another go.

I grew up watching Star Trek with my family, mostly The Next Generation. Those were always special moments for me, and I would like to be able to hang on to those memories, and hopefully form new ones in the years to come. This show is more than just a science fiction, it is about hope the humanity will overcome our natural barbarism and grow beyond our status as an "ignorant, savage, child race," as Q puts it.
Star Wars is good too, but I already have access to it for the moment, as my roommate has all 6 movies, and the Clone Wars.

What I'd like is the full DVD Box set. Amazon's price is about $400 before shipping, but I don't want to take up all of the funds, as there really are many deserving wishes. I'll take any suggestions of cheaper options if you know of any.

Please feel free to post favourite episodes, or discuss who was the best Captain, etc., or post youtube videos! I certainly will be! The featured clip is from the special features of Season 5, and is part of a tribute to the creator of Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry. Season 5 was dedicated to him following his passing.

Thank you in advance for your support.

This is my third try for this wish, and because it is something important to me, I intend to keep on trying.

I live in North Bay, ON, 360 km away from my parents and siblings. My brother Mark live in Waterloo, and sister Audrey lives in Sudbury, and my brother Thom lives in Ottawa. It has been a long time since we've all been together, and I miss them! Some of my favourite memories therefore are of times when the whole family was together, gathered around the tv with our blankets and a bowl of popcorn, watching Star Trek.
As some of you may have noticed, I am a student of the human condition, and as my post count points out rather dramatically, a "Champion of Justice." I honestly believe that part of who I am was fueled by these aspects of Star Trek: curiosity, a sense of justice, and the eternal quest for self-improvement. This is part of what has made the field of Political Science so interesting to me. I have trouble understanding the way people think, and I want to learn, as well as having a desire to make the world a better place. This mat sound a bit like rambling, but it is how I feel.
As you can see, Star Trek has been more than just entertainment to me, it has been central in my life, and development into the person I am. That is why I am asking for some money to help me along the way to getting the full DVD box set of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the show we watched most as I was growing up.
Unfortunately, I am only a student and therefore have a limited budget, so I've had to make other priorities. You may recall awhile back that I removed my wish for a laptop computer to help with my schoolwork, as I am autistic, because I managed to pull together the funds out of my own budget. This hasn't left me with much for entertainment. The full price of the DVDs is around $400, but I'd rather not eat up such a large amount of the naughty fund.
So I ask you, please, make it so!

I've been inspired by a couple of recent polls for this one!

I wish that people could get over themselves and be accepting of others. The colour of our skin, or our country of origin is not important, only who we are as a person. There are always excuses for racism, but never a reason. Immigrants are not the reason unskilled labourers can't get work, it is because they are unskilled, and unwilling to work at the rate of those who are used to the lower rates. Learn a skill, and stop listening to the rhetoric of government. NAZI Germany used a similar excuse for the persecution of the Jews during the Second World War, so I guess this user, who I shall not name, is in good company!
We are all human, and it's about time we realized that. This wish isn't a $1 wish, it is priceless, and if I could ask for more, I would.

If you've had a chance to move around this site yet, you've more than likely run into at least one member of my family. I've been talking amongst my siblings, and we've been unable to pinpoint exactly how long it's been since we were all together, but were unable to come up with a definite answer. Several years, for sure! Mark is in Mississauga, Audrey is in Wanup, Thom, Lee and Aelen are in Ottawa, I'm in North Bay, and the rest of the immediate family (mom, dad, Karen, Catey, Diana, Jacob, Cameron, Edward, Austin, Isaac, and Alex) are in Timmins. If you have time, check out the distances on Google Earth.
On my previous wishes, I mentioned how Star Trek nights had been one of my most cherished memories. We would lay down blankets, bring out great food like hoagies, and crackers, and all kinds of yummy stuff! What I would like to do is recreate one of these moments, by bringing my family together for Star Trek.
An oppurtunity presents itself in that Thom will be travelling North in August. The money I am asking for will give us a good start towards covering the travel cost for the rest of us, including Thom's wife, Lee. With a bit of coordinating of schedules, and of course, your support, Robinhood Fund could be responsible for the first meeting of all of my siblings in years!
There is still a fair bit of time before August, so we'll be looking for any way possible to lower the cost of this event. As it is, it will contribute towards transportation for 5-6, and feeding this legion. But if we are able to reduce our expenditures, say by one person driving a car, and picking up one of the others, we will donate any cut cost back to the site. Besides, I know that some of you want to see what happens when our whole family gets together!
Thank you so much for all the support you've given my family!

Please, without your help, there is very little chance that this will happen at all. I ask you, make it so.

Thank you LittleMD, for trying to make this happen. Looks like I'll need to try for it once again, however. Some of the trolls seem to think that the Hutchison family getting together may not be such a good thing! Well that is their right, but to them I say we may stumble if they push us down. We may fall, but we'll never lie down!
In case you haven't noticed, we're an opinionated, strong willed bunch. I really miss being together. I moved away from home for university 2 years ago, but before me there were 3 others who moved far away. Because there are so many of us(8 children, plus grand children and spouses), over so great an area(scattered across the Eastern region of Ontario), it's been quite some time since we've all been together. The money for this wish will not in itself pay for all of us to get back to Timmins, but it will get us close enough that I'm sure we can pull together the rest.
What would we do? Well, we'd bring back the traditional Hutchison Family Star Trek night, which is one of the things I miss most about home, as well as going out for a camp fire, making smores, singing songs, and really being a family.
The empty bridge of the Enterprise-D represents the missing members of our family. Just as a ship needs its crew, we need eachother.
Robinhood has been so good for us, and we are so thankful. Please, help us come together as a family. Make the 3rd time the charm. I promise, there will be pictures!

So vote this wish to the top, and I will make short work of the trolls!

In all seriousness, I would like to get this as a collector's item.

Since talking to a friend the other day, I've decided I have to switch categories for my wish afterall. I know the tendancy of the wishes on this site to bounce all over the place, and I don't think that I could handle beating people out of house and home. Emotionally, this is a need, but when it comes down to it, our lives will go on. That's the difference between my wish, and the other top nice wishes. Now that a naughty wish has passed mine, and I wouldn't just be fence hopping into first place, I don't feel quite so bad about it.
I'll understand if some of you change your votes, but at the end of the day, what's important is whether or not we can live with ourselves, right? I hope you can understand.

If you've been around the site long, I'm sure you've run into at least a couple of us floating about. 3 out of the 8 of us children are still living at home with mom and dad, while the rest of us have spread across the province. What I'd like is a chance to bring all of my brothers and sisters together for a reproduction of an old family tradition: a Star Trek Night!
When we were all at home, many, many moons ago, we'd make up a whole bunch of good food, lay down blankets on the livingroom floor, and watch Star Trek together. To this day, it is one of my favourite shows, because of its social commentary, and positive outlook on the future of mankind. I believe it was this show that first got me interested in politics, and the study of humanity, which is now my major. This time we'd be gathering from North Bay, Ottawa, Wanup, and Missisauga to watch our favourite episodes, and to go out to my parents camp to make smores! It's been so long since we've been together, I'd just love to make this happen for my siblings. My eldest brother hasn't even met his neice yet!

Thank you in advance. Qua'pla, Jolan Tru, and Live Long and Prosper!

The cadet year is coming to a close, and I'd like to be able to take the rest of the officer staff out for a "Dark 'N' Dirty." ty." For all you non-pussers, that's navy talk for Dark Rum in Coke, a modern twist on the traditional navy drink.
These people enlist as officers in the Canadian Forces, and are trained specially to work with youth. They get paid about 2 days out of every month, but the amount of time they put in is staggering. This year, we've put more into this corps than ever before, and are showing fantastic potential. Don't worry, although the CF sponser the organization, and provide the staff, the training is not military, and cadets do not join the forces afterward, unless they do so on their own.
Anyway, believe me when I say, these people deserve a good drink!

I am an officer with the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Brilliant.
Before I joined the corps, someone stole the awards! Every plaque, every trophy, the records of the achievements of cadets going back 60 years, gone. We have about 12 awards, which, since that date, have only been plaques given to the cadet at our Annual Ceremonial Review! No legacy, nothing. This year, my better half donated an award for Top Biathlete, and bought a brand new trophy herself, as she coaches that team. I have agreed to purchase the Best First Year Cadet Award. But buying awards are expensive, and we can't really do it all at once. So this wish would go towards replacing one of the awards.
If the community is so kind as to provide the money for this award, either through making a trophy for us donations, or making it win, the words "Donated By Robinhood Fund," will be engraved on the trophy.

*UPDATE*
Aunt Dreama's husband, Cliff, has offered to carve the seamanship trophy for us! :D
I'm going to leave this up though because we still have quite a few trophies that need to be replaced, so just in case :)

Another update!

Macyswish (Tina) has confirmed that her husband is willing to make the Tillicum Award for the corps! And so far, both he and Cliff have said they did not need their names on the trophies. I think I managed to convince Cliff, but Tina said "Donated By Robinhood Fund" would be fine. :)
These two, and canadadian, who is trying to arrange for a third, are really inspiring me! Such selflessness! RHF brings out the worst in people at times, but it certainly also brings out the best!

Let me, or one of my family members know if you'd like to help out. I'll be in contact with them after I leave. They should be easy to find, they will be carrying on my wish for a reunion whilest I am away.

As many of you will remember, I've been trying to arrange for a reunion of my family for this August. Unfortunately, as it turns out, not only have I failed to gather the much needed funds, but the work schedules of my brother and I make it impossible to have us all in one place, at the same time for the moment.
BUT, I refuse to be beaten that easily. This means that I have time to keep going, and raise the money, AND it means that Ellen, my lovely other half, will be available to join us as well! Since she and I have already budgetted for a visit to Timmins at Christmas time, we were hoping that it would be possible to get the family together then. It has been years since we've all been together as a family, let alone at Christmas time. Please, Help make this Christmas a merry one :)

The star I want to follow this Christmas won't lead me to Christ's stable in Bethlehem. It is Polaris, the Northern Star, and I want to follow it home.

I have been trying over the past few months to arrange for a long overdue family reunion. The original goal was for about a week from now, when my older brother would be in Timmins anyway. Unfortunately, even if we had raised the money, August has proven impossible, as my contact working for the cadet summer training centre won't end until 2 days after Thom leaves Timmins. SO the goal I am setting is getting the family home for Christmas, just like we used to do. It has been too many years since we've all been together, and after recent events (if you know, you know, but I don't want to use this as a promotional tool) we're really needing to be together as a family.
Also, this will be the first time I bring my Ellen home for Christmas. I'd really love for her to fully experience a Hutchison Christmas, with all of us present. For those of you who don't know, Ellen is my 42, my meaning of life, my other half.

It's been about 10 weeks since Ellen and I have seen eachother, and I miss her very much. When she gets home, I'd like to be able to stop everything, and just cook her up a wonderful dinner, light some candles, and maybe go outside, sit watching the stars.
This summer, I was working as a cadet instructor at Her Majesty's Canadian Ship Ontario, Sea Cadet Summer Training Centre, in Kingston, ON, while Ellen was working with the Uncle's company in Penticton, BC, at the far end of the country. When she does get back, we'll only have 1-2 days before class starts, and she'll have a great deal to prepare in thaat time. I'd really like to be in a position to make every spare moment we have very special.
I really am not expecting this wish to go very far, but this is my wish, so I thought I'd put it up. And if it helps me give the love of my life a special evening, so much the better. One way or another, I'll find a way to give her a wonderful evening when she gets home.
Even if this wish doesn't win, you can still be of help. Leave dinner ideas, recipes, etc. I'm always looking for new things to surprise her with.
Thanks a lot!

I like cheese! Ellen likes cheese! Cheese is good! So I am wishing for cheese. Not just any cheese though, good cheese!

I figure $23 is enough for a nice chunk of brie, some camembert, some havarti, maybe some gruyere if I'm lucky, and a box of crakers to go with it! Do I need that much cheese? No, but this is a naughty wish, so I figured I'd go all out.

Since the community has been so generous to me, I've been holding off on real wishes, and been posting fun ones. However, I'm taking a break from making wishes just for my own amusement, and am looking to help out 2 great people. As you've probably seen, I have been promoting the art of my better half, Ellen DeLong. She's just starting her career as a professional artist, and has been very excited at the amount of support she has received. Several users have already expressed interest, including angeldet.
The peice she wants is entitled Tree II. It was inspired one day when Ellen looked out the window to see a tree with red, squiggly branches, covered in yellow, polka-dot-like buds. She basically leapt from the window, and started painting away. The picture here is a close up on part of the peice, but it can be viewed in it's entirety here: [ link ]
This wish is not only to help out a friend, who has been there time and time again for so many of us, but to help the love of my life pursue her dreams. The winnings from this wish would go directly to angeldet.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm starting to get pretty fed up with the "Poor me, someone voted a 4 on my wish" ish" cries. Seriously, I am tired of people trying to guilt trip people by coming to the forums and whining that everybody hates them because they haven't gotten many votes. Especially after only a couple of hours of voting!
Another thing, your friends do not DESERVE to win, and neither do you. The only person who deserves to win is the one who manages to rally the support to do so. This is a wish site, for crying out loud.
You may have noticed that I haven't been my jovial, helpful self lately. Well, frankly that is because this is not the RHF I joined, and it's starting to get to me. This site is better than what it has become, and until people stop perverting it, I'm going be the asshole, and stand up.
BE the change you want to see. Stop complaining. Stop "calling people out." Stop being so bloody whiny!
*DISCLAIMER: Anyone who spams this wish get a big, gold star from me. But only the one.*

I like pie!
This is my naughty wish. It is purely self indulgent. There is a sale on pie, and I want some, so I am wishing for pie. Please buy me pie.
