I am involved (and madly in love) with a wonderful man who just happens to live about 4 hours away from me right now. We are talking marriage already so hopefully soon that long distance part will change.

He works for a huge steel company and was sent to Hong Kong for what was supposed to be a three week stint to help them straighten out the distribution side of the plant. As of May 1st he will have been gone for FOURTEEN MONTHS. I have not been able to see him in that long. Thank goodness for cell phones or we would both be crazy by now. Granted his company takes great care of him while he is over there, but every time I talk to him I can tell how tired he is and how much he misses home. He missed his parents 50th wedding anniversary back in November, he missed my birthday but more importantly he missed the entire college football season. My Poor baby.

He will be home shortly before Memorial Day. I have taken off a few days already to go be there when he gets home. I plan to already be at home waiting on him when his friend brings him home from the airport. My wish is to be able to make it a little more special. I want to get us a nice bottle of champagne, some great steaks and maybe a little something "special" for me to make his welcome home complete.

OK as many of you know, chronic medical problems result in chronic doctor visits and in my case chronic blood work. At one time I was unaware of how particular my insurance company was concerning the DATES of monthly blood work. I would wait four weeks and go in again to have it done. Sometimes that meant only 28 or so days between blood work and my insurance company refused to pay in those situations. Silly me didn't realize this for several months and by then the situation (and the bill) was dire.

Anyway, by the time I realized what was happening, my bill for that particular doctor was over $3,000. In just under 3 years I have managed to pay it down to $247.53 but lately life keeps getting in the way of me being able to send any money to the doctor's office. SO my wish is help from my friends at the Robin Hood Fund to finally be able to pay off my Rheumatologist.

The shoe you see pictured to the left is the Bocca Loafer by Franco Sarto. My mother bought me a pair of these loafers about 5 years ago as a Christmas gift. Since I work in a somewhat casual environment, I wore these loafers almost daily during the fall and winter months. Finally this past Winter they gave up the ghost. I have worn a thin spot into the sole of both loafers.

I need a new pair of these great comfortable shoes so that I have some nice shoes to wear this coming Fall. Sadly no store locally carries these anymore but I have found them in an online store. The Cost of the shoes is $68.95 + shipping.
