Plants for my Mom's garden

My mom has always loved gardening. She has been disabled for the last 25 years, due to effects from brain surgery, so it gives her something to do. She loves to plant tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and squash, and share them with everyone. She also loves planting pumpkins so that the grandkids can have their own pumpkin patch.
Usually, she starts them from seed indoors, in early spring, and they're ready to plant in May. This year, however, she has been sick, had to undergo some tests, and still doesn't know yet if she has cancer or not (long story), so she wasn't able to get her seeds started in time.
I'd like to be able to plant her garden for her, but with it being so late already, I'd need to buy already growing plants. If I could get some plants, and some fertilizer, and rent a tiller for the day, I think it would really be a nice surprise for her.

Homestudy fees to adopt our first child!

Hi! I'm 34, from Louisville, Kentucky.
My husband and I have been together for 5 years, married for 3. We had been trying to start a family for over a year. Then, in February, we found out that I had cancer, and had to have surgery which left me unable to carry children. Although I feel blessed that the cancer was caught early (my doc says it's basically cured by the surgery), the loss of our baby hopes has been a huge blow. We want to pursue our other options for having a family as soon as possible.

We're looking at surrogacy and adoption.. we'd like to adopt a child first, then in a few years, have my sister carry a baby for us. We plan on saving money, and doing fundraisers to raise the adoption fees (and travel expenses, if necessary). Our first step is to get an approved homestudy, which can be very expensive.. hence this wish!

A belated Valentine's Day with my wonderful husband

I don't deserve this wish.. I haven't done anything all that special lately.
But my husband has! He has been the sweetest man alive for the last few months. I've had to undergo cancer surgery, and he has stayed right by my side, nursing me back to health. We've been through a lot this past year.. losing my dad, my health problems, dealing with the fact that we can't have kids (at least, not how most people do). He's been absolutely perfect through all of it.. he's really been my rock.
We didn't get to celebrate Valentine's Day this year, as I went in to the hospital the day before, and spent the next 8 weeks recovering. I'd love to take him out somewhere special as a "thank you" just for being himself. (more)

Dinner with the best husband in the world!

It's me again! I'm still hoping to find a way to treat my wonderful husband to a nice dinner out, because he really deserves it! I've had a very hard year.. my father passed away last year, then I found out that I had cancer in 2/2007, and had to have surgery, which (thank God!) is more than likely the cure, but has left us unable to have children, which is yet another blow.

My husband has been everything I could ask for, and more. He was my shoulder to cry on over my father, and my rock throughout my surgery and recovery. He has gone completely over the top being there for me through this year, and I would love to be able to treat him to a nice evening out.

We missed Valentine's Day this year, as my surgery was the day before. Our wedding anniversary is coming up on June 19th.. and although we've agreed not to get gifts (we're broke!), it would be SO nice to surprise him with this.

A nice day with my mother!

Hi all, and thanks for looking at my wish!
I am one of five girls, and I think my mother is a saint. If not, she should be!
She has been through so much in her life, I couldn't even begin to list it all here. She is disabled due to a brain aneurysm 25 years ago, which she almost didn't survive. Although she miraculously did survive, she is blind in 60% of her vision field because of it.
Well, she just got more bad news.. she definitely has cancer. They're not sure yet what kind of treatment she will need, but it will probably be surgery or chemo or both. They have to wait for MORE test results.
As you can imagine, this is really upsetting to all of us. After losing our Dad last year, and having my own cancer surgery earlier this year, it's unbelievable to have to go through this again. Anyway, hopefully bad things come in threes, and once she is cured (because I KNOW that she will be!), we'll be able to get back to semi-normal.
Anyway, please don't take this as a sob story.. as I mentioned in another wish, our family is strong and we will get through this. I would just absolutely LOVE to be able to plan a day for my sisters and me to spend with our Mom, to cheer her up. I was thinking of a nice brunch, then a manicure and pedicure. Mom LOVES to have this done, but will never spend the money on herself to do it.

DKNY "Be Delicious" Perfume - I STINK!!

My sister got some of this perfume for her birthday, and I absolutely love it. I just can't bring myself to spend so much on something for myself, which in my mind makes this a perfect naughty wish.

A trip to say goodbye to our Daddy

I am one of five sisters. We lost our Daddy last April (2006). Dad's final wishes were to be cremated, and have his ashes scattered at Rough River, where we've been going camping for the last 30 years, which is about an hour and a half drive away. Not a bad trip.
So why do I need to raise money for such a short trip? Because he's not there. Without sounding too bitter, his evil nasty witch of a third wife went against his wishes (and yes, she definitely knew what they were), and had him buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Okay, so that sounded a little bitter. Sorry.
April 20 will be the two year anniversary of his passing, and the one year anniversary of his burial at Arlington (to which we were not invited, and only found out about after the fact, via a letter from the evil witch. Oh wait, I'm sounding bitter again..) We would like to go visit his grave for the first time. We figure the trip will cost somewhere between 500 - 1000 dollars, depending on whether we drive or fly. We are going to try our darnedest to find a way to do this. We're planning a yard sale, and selling some things on ebay.
By the way if the witch happens to be there, I may need bail money.. so I'll be making another wish, I guess.
