I am totally amazed to have found this community. Its almost too good to be true, but Im gonna try anyway. Where do I start and what do I wish for. Okay, here goes: I am going to wish simply for some help. Help with groceries, medical expenses, bills, clothes for the family, gas for the cars you name it, we need the help and every little bit counts. Long story short: Dreamed of working for the airlines, dream came true-April '06. Dream ended-6/20/06-fell at work, tore ACL, needed surgery to repair, terminated from Continental Express on 8/14/06, surgery on 8/18/06(Talk about not so perfect timing). February '07-Worker comp. insurance has determined I have reached MMI, yet I still can not bend my knee, kneel, crawl on the floor with my kids, stand/sit for too long, HMMM?? Anyway, doctor agreed, cant fight ruling, yet he has not released me completely to return to work, have lots of limitations, no job waiting for me anymore, whose gonna hire me with so many limitations?? 2/22/07-taken to ER by mom, admitted immediately, diagnosed with diabetes. Dr. said "You do indeed have diabetes?" I heard-your gonna die young, be on dialysis the rest of your life and have your feet amputated. Im 34, mother to four beautiful children ages 3,5,7 and 15. I started crying I was terrified. I had never been suspected of even being borderline diabetic or anything. My sugars were so high, the glucometer would not even register a number, meaning they were over 600. Normal is 60-99. Now, after finally getting educated, I know better, and am not so scared anymore. This is one expensive disease though. Did I mention, I have no medical insurance. We applied for assistance from the hospital and made $100 too much. I hate to see that bill when it arrives-I was hospitalized for 6 days, 5 of them in the MICU. My husband is our sole source of income. He works his heart out to TRY to make ends meet. Putting in overtime every chance he gets. Weve applied for WIC and Food Stamps to try to help us get by. Were waiting on their decision. Money is so extremely tight right now, and there is just not enough to stretch. Im wishing for money and prayers, because every little bit of both helps. Thanks and God Bless
