I hate the image that I see staring back at me. What I really want is be healthy, my family needs me and I need to be there for them.

I'm at fault for the weight gain, I let depression take over and I allowed myself to find excuses to eat.

I can't do this anymore.

I'm trying to take walks, but I'm ashamed of my body and I walk with my head down. I have two small girls, I don't want them to get distorted body images because mommy likes donuts.

I have to stop this cycle. My mom was a very heavy set women and in the last few years lost about 100lbs(go mom), and I can see the fear in her eyes that I'm becoming like that...

A few reasons why I gained weight:

Right after I had my first baby, the relationship ended. Mix Postpartum depression with even more depression and add broken relationship=lots of cheesecake.

I decide to go out one evening with a friend to get a few drinks and while I was waiting to use the restroom, I pushed out the patio door and was raped.

More food...

Pregnant with my last baby and was put on bedrest for a month and ended up gaining weight quickly. Had baby and went through another cycle of postpartum depression.

Then I decide to quit smoking a year ago...

and I gained 40lbs. God, I wish I was kidding. I was dumb about the way I quit and replaced cigarettes with food.

I want a treadmill, but after reading the wishes on here and I can't bring myself to ask for that kind of money. (more)

A second chance for my mom to stop smoking

This isn't for me, it's for my mother. My mom smoked when I was young, quit for 12-13 years, but when my dad died November 23, 1998, it wasn't long after she picked the habit back up.

They had celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary the year dad died, and you would have thought they were just married. My parents provided such a wonderful example of what love should be.. I really thought my mom was going to die of a broken heart.

Anyways, my mom expressed feelings on wanting to quit smoking, but I know her financial situation doesn't allow for too many extras including getting the Nicotine patches.

My mom gave me life and I would like the chance to save hers..

I would like to adopt a dog from our local animal shelter. Local vets spay and neuter these pets at no extra cost. We are hoping to adopt an adult sm/med sized dog, our yard wouldn't provide a larger dog with enough room to play. (more)

Ever hear the phrase Christmas in July? My family tries to have just that.....

My husband and I save our pocket change through out the year and after we cash the coins in we go shopping for the kids in our local shelter. We have friends that own a pizza restaurant, they donate several pizzas and we give these beautiful children a pizza party and new toys.

What we are trying to do is show them they are not forgotten and they are very special.

We usually save up about $250.00--What I'm wishing for is to match that amount. I want these kids to have art supplies, books and joy.

Last Thursday I had a friend died, and my two closest friends came together and raised some money. They were afraid my grief would take over and my goal would not be reached.

Last week I wanted to match the $250.00 hubby and I raise, but thanks to my friends we are only $75.00 short.

Please make this happen. Maybe, I'm naive, but my hope is that kindness will help heal the hearts of these children.

As a mother, I want to give my babies the world--I couldn't imagine not being able to give them anything.

My husband has walked in these kids footsteps, he wont admit to it, but I can see the ever lasting pain that it caused him. (more)

I need strength to finally visit my father's gravesite. My father died November 23, 1998, due to a massive heart attack at 46 years old.

My father was my hero, my best friend, he was simply my world. I haven't been brave enough to stand in front of his final resting place.

I miss him everyday. I feel so guilty that I haven't went, I'm scared of what my reaction will be--I get sick just thinking about it.

What I need is as many positive thoughts/prayers as I can get. The money would go towards photobooks for my girls of their grandfather.
