A little TLC for my wife after surgery EDITED

EDITED wish amount to reflect $5 donation in the chipin. Thank you!
My wife, SheisMrsWright, had surgery on April 20th to remove malignant tumors. My wife is one of the most amazing women I know. At 27 years old she took in my disabled brother and took on caring for him putting his needs ahead of her own. She has always put my brother's care before her own personal needs. In the days leading up to her surgery when she should have been relaxing and taking care of herself she was busy handling my brother's care & making sure that he would be cared for while she was recovering. My wife could really use a little pampering while she recovers from surgery and heals. I would love for her to have a day to just pamper herself. She used to love to get her nails done and things like that but over the last 2 years she has been so busy caring for my brother that she never takes the time to do something for herself.

I would love to see my wife have a day to get pampered and have lunch with the the girls. She used to do those kinds of things before Mike came to live with us and she hasn't had the time or money to do that in a long time and feel that it is time for her to take a day for her.

Thank you for taking the time to read my wish.

Half an Hour of Sunshine EDITTED

News has come in that my contract has been extended, and our day together will not be possible. What was to be 2 separations is now one giant one, lasting at least 4 long months. I cannot be there to spend my day with the woman I love, but I would still like to give her that day. Ellen will still be coming to North Bay, only now I shall not be there to greet her. What I now ask, is that you give me the chance to set things up for her while to have the day I wanted to give her.
This isn't what you agreed to when all of you voted, but I hope it is something that you feel to be worthwhile.

Original Wish:

One Day, in over One Hundred Thirty...
One Day, after months apart...
One Day, before separated again...
One Day, to make up for all the time lost, and to be lost...
One Day, to spend with the woman I love.

On June 20th, at 2359, my fiancee will return from a 9 week course, held by the Navy on the other end of the country.
On June 22nd, at 0200, I catch a bus that will take me 800km away, for the rest of the summer, while she waits a few days more, to return to the Coast for work.
As of April 27th, I have but a single day with the woman I love, in the next 132. Over 4 months, including both of our birthdays, and we have but one day to be together.

But, as the song says, "Half an hour of sunshine is worth a week of rain." There is only one thing left to me: I must make that day one that makes up for all of this time apart. This is something that I must do, and I will find the means. If I receive no help, then I shall be left to manage with the resources that I have. The greater the resources I am able to gather, the more I can do for her. At the very least, I will make her a romantic dinner, but with some help, I can devote all of my time and attention to her, and have someone else wait on us.

Is this a need or a want? Personally, I feel that being with my children is a definite need. They are my oxygen of life. Without them, my life is just not complete. They are ages 5, 7, and 10.

I need my children with me this summer, and they need me. This has been a very hard time for them and for me. Divorce isnt easy on anyone, without going into the circumstances surrounding it.

I miss my children every single day I am away from them. They miss me too.

We are gonna pack the last 6 months or so into 42 days. This includes, birthdays, Valentines Day, Easter, Mothers Day, Halloween....you name it we are gonna do it. Trick or treating in July will be FUN!

I need a helping hand enabling us to spend 42 days together this summer. I am also going to put this wish up at Wish Upon A Hero and Microgiving, and will keep all wishes updated accordingly.

Any help is greatly appreciated. The smiles on my kids faces when I pick them up will be worth it all.

A Hammock Swing For Sensory Integration Therapy
Video

A Hammock Swing For Sensory Integration Therapy

My son Jamie has Autism and like many autistic persons he has Sensory Integration Disorder meaning that it is difficult for him to process stimuli from the senses of sight, smell, sound, touch, taste, balance and body. It can be very overwhelming and causes many autistics to withdraw to avoid overstimulation, or try to sort out the input from their senses with self-developed soothing mechanisms and repetitive behaviours that can interfere with day to day activities and learning.

Swinging can help autistic children to relax and unwind. The smooth swaying motion can calm them when they are in an agressive or hyper state. It can also restore balance to their vestibular system, provide proprioceptive input ( deep pressure) and helps them feel more in balance and can increase concentration and focus

Besides that Jamie just loves to swing. At 12 years old he is already a very big boy and much too large for a traditional swingset. I would like to get him a hammock swing to swing in. We will also need the portable support to hang it on. We rent our home and aren't allowed to put holes or anchor things to the ceiling.

His Birthday is coming up May 20th and I think a swing would make a great present. He is non verbal and never asks for anything and is happy just to have books video tapes and the ability to watch You Tube. Presents and Birthdays just don't mean what they do to other children to him. Even finding something he might like for a present can be hard. I think with this one I just might score a hit. :)
Than you so much for taking a look at my wish. I placed this in the greedy category because although it would be nice to have a swing to help calm and regulate Jamies sensory system its not something we absolutely have to have.

Funds to Cover Son's Transplant Expenses

My son Jordan has a rare life threatening illness called Severe Chronic Congenital Neutropenia, Kostman's Syndrome, and will begetting a bone marrow transplant soon after his 16th birthday in April. Before the transplant, he will have many appointments for cardiactric testing, pulmonary tests, dental and vision etc...along with all his regular PCP visits.
These appointments will be 2 hours away. We have applied fora grant to help with the donor search and a preliminary search has been started. He will be admitted to the hospital and undergo 1 week of massive chemo treatments and will remain after the transplant for 1 month. The hospital will try to reserve me a room at the family house at $15 per day. If no rooms are available, I will be put on a waiting list until one becomes available, if one does..Until then, I will have to stay at a hotel at a higher rate. After that, he will be put into an apartment at the patient house for 2-3 more months, where I will have to stay with him as he will need 24/7 care. I will be responsible for my expenses such as food, travel, housing ($15 per night..3-6 months) etc., and any uncovered expenses for him, meanwhile still paying bills at home and the gas for his brothers and dad to come visit him. He has insurance, but it will only cover a portion of his expenses. There will be many other uncovered expenses, but this is a start.
Any help is appreciated..and prayers are always welcome and needed. Thank You.

**I do have a wish up on another site. Due to the amount we are going to be responsible for, I am seeking help wherever I can**

a graphic design, Wacom Tablet!

  • Wish Points: 404.90

I have always wanted a Wacom Tablet. Some of you may ask, hmmm, well what is that? It's a graphic tablet for upcoming designers. It allows you to draw your creations and scan directly into your PC. I love designing graphics, and I have wanted one of these so badly for what seems like, forever. I'm trying to so hard to sell my designs, but I don't have all the tools I need to do some of the things that are IN where designing is concerned.
To own one of these, would be the most ultimate happiness for me.

Wacom Tablets come in a wide range of prices, but the one I really want and has the specs that I really need for designing cost about $199 New. I'm trying to find one like it, used, and will change my wish to reflect this if I can find it.

Can you help me make this wish come true?
Thank you for stopping by to read my wish.

I have always wanted to build myself a table out of Legos and now that I finally have someplace to put one (I need something to put the TV on in the toy room), I need LOTS OF LEGOS! They are SO expensive, but I think that $100 worth would at least be a good start! Btw, if anyone has some old ones they aren't using anymore, I could certainly use some contributions!

help with funeral travel expenses

My uncle passed away and the funeral will be Feb 21 about 120 plus miles away. My dad is coming here by way of bus and we are driving there together and will have to stay the night as it will be an all day event. My uncle is my dad's only brother and his oldest sibling and he is taking the death very hard. All of my family will be there also so it will be a very sad family reunion. There is no way I can miss this so I will go no matter what. With the bus fare, gas, food, some place to stay and anything else that requires money this is going to be costly. If me, my dad, my hubby and 3 kids have to sleep in the van it will not stop us. I dont think that will happen but if we have to we will. I know this wish will end after the funeral so if it wins it will help as a way to replace money spent from other things like my bills that I am going to not pay so I can use the money for us to go. This funeral is more important than my bills right now since they are mostly up to date and I will catch up later. I might do other things to come up with funds also it all depends on time. I am hoping we can find a place that is cheap and will let all 6 of us stay in one room to save money too. So far all I have found is a best western in Rohnert Park 20 miles from the funeral at a cost of $80 a night and they wont let us all stay in one room because the town has a ban on rollaway beds. If anyone can find something cheaper near Bodega Bay, Ca I'd apreciate it. Too bad its winter or we could just camp out in bodega dunes or dillons beach. Anyways, Thank you for reading and voting. The pic is my dad by the way.

Edit to say I found a room with 3 double beds for 85 with tax. It is a travelodge in santa rosa. I'm getting excited.

Edit to add I have also found a motel 6 in petaluma for about $55 a night which is better since we will be driving thru there and Santa rosa is a slight detour and my hubby really does not want to share a room with my dad but if we have to he will have to deal with it. (he just told me last night)also edited the miles as I have google maped how to get there now.

I am trying again. I work for the local school board transporting students to and from school. I do not receive another paycheck till Jan 31st. I have already paid rent and utilities on my house. That has left me with $75 for gasoline to get to and from work as well as groceries. I do receive some help from some local churches that participate in food banks. The food I receive from the food banks helps and has provided me with plenty of canned veggies, spagitti sauce and some noodles. So I will not go hungry. What they do not provide is meats and milk. That is what I am requesting help with is to purchase some meat and milk. I plan to use part of the money if I should win to make my purchase at a local Angel Food Ministries site.

On the 16th, my fiancee and I celebrate our 4th anniversary. Every year, I do my best to make the day perfect for her. I take the day off to clean, cook, run errands, and of course, buy flowers, candles, chocolates, dinner, champagne, and of course a gift. Though that part is usually taken care of in advance.
I'll be honest, I could use a hand. It's not cheap filling the apartment with flowers and candles. Though, after the incident, I don't think I'll use quite as many candles as I have in the past...
Anyway, it should be obvious at this point that I am more than a bit of a romantic, and that I would very much like to be able to do this for my fiancee.

All year long I plan for, wait for, save for and long for, my one wild shopping spree of the year.
I'm addicted to the After Christmas sales.
I buy gifts for all year long and for next Christmas too, not to mention all the wrapping and stuff for next year.

Well this year, I set out on the day after Christmas to feed my habit and......my freakin van was stone cold dead.
I got the battery charged up about 2 days later and FINALLY....was heading out to sooth my craving.
Well, I figured I better stop at the automotive shop and have my battery checked while I was there. Sure enough...DEAD.

I was figuring maybe $50 at the outside so, I still had a lil mad money left to enjoy some retail therapy.
HA....the cheapest one they had was $90. That made my wild shopping spree turn into little more than picking up some basics. :(

There's still a lot of stuff on the shelves that I could make very good use of....if I just had a lil more hard cash to continue.
With any luck at all, I'll also be able to pick up some cheap lil trinkets to offer as prizes for dumb contests on GoN. ;)
